I know that a great headshot is your most important tool and I have the experience, understanding and expertise to give you what you need.
I will make you look your best and bring out the best in you. I really strive to discover someone’s essence and then capture it. There are so many actors out there, but only one you. There are also so many headshot photographers out there. Many just don’t get this, settling for a more generic affect/image. A headshot has to look great, that’s easy, but I’m really looking for that connection to the viewer. That I find is what really gets someone’s attention.
Prior to the shoot I meet with people to get a sense of who they are and where they want to go, what they want their headshot to say. What they want to say about themselves. So, when we shoot we have a vision. But more importantly, we know each other and are already comfortable with each other. People often ask me what a shoot with me is like. I really feel like its as simple as hanging out with a friend and taking some photos along the way. It really keeps the process organic and real.
i work out of my sunny 2 bedroom apartment on the upper west side. i use it as an environment or as a studio, which many find to be more comfortable than a generic studio setting. i also live minutes from great locations including the park, quiet streets and a more industrial area
I work with some of the best hair and make up artists available. When they’re not with me they’re doing cool editorial or advertising jobs. This keeps them current and on the top of their game. Although they’re all quite creative they know exactly what to do for a headshot, keeping it simple and real. Highlighting your natural beauty and features, translating them, and you better to camera. maybe something more dramatic for a second look or to play a bit.
Whether shooting available light or with strobes, inside or outside, I’m meticulous with my lighting and adjust it to whomever I’m photographing. I also work with state of the art digital gear. Shooting digitally we get to preview what we’re doing as we go along. This helps build confidence and guarantee results we’re both happy with. I only photograph one person a day and give it my all! That allows the opportunity to try different looks and shoot until we know we have it, and then some. After a quick edit your shoot will be available in password protected galleries right here. Convenient for you and anyone you wish to see the images. You will get all those images on a dvd and retouching on up to three images you like best. I believe people should look like the best version of themselves, with a little bit of cheating. Great retouching you shouldn’t see. Most importantly, your headshot should look like you – the person that’s going to walk through that door!
